Using collected personal data

Comments

When you leave a comment on our website, not only the data entered in the comment form, but also your IP address and the user agent of your browser are collected to help us detect unwanted comments.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using the service. The Gravatar Service Privacy Statement is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After validating your comment, your profile photo will be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to the website, we recommend that you avoid uploading images containing EXIF GPS coordinate data. Visitors to your website can download and extract location data from these images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you will be asked to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is just for your convenience, so you don't have to enter this information if you make another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

If you access the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether the browser accepts cookies. It does not contain personal data and will be automatically deleted when the browser is closed.

Once logged in, we will set up a series of cookies to save your login information and screen preferences. The duration of a login cookie is two days, that of a screen option cookie is one year. If you check "Remember me", your cookie will be stored for two weeks. If you leave your account, the cookie will be deleted.

When you edit or publish a publication, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data. Simply indicate the ID of the publication you just edited. It expires after a day.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, articles…). Embedded content from other sites behaves as if the visitor is visiting that other site.

These websites can collect data about you, use cookies, incorporate third-party monitoring tools, monitor your interactions with such embedded content if you have an account linked to their website.

How long your data is stored

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows you to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments instead of leaving them in the moderation queue.

For users who register on our site (if possible), we also keep the personal data indicated in their profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (except their username). Site managers can also view and edit this information.

The rights you have on your data

If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have about you, including the one you provided. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. This excludes data stored for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Transmission of your personal data

Visitors' comments can be verified using an automated service to detect unwanted comments.
